Navigating Specialized Taxes with Absolute Compliance

Unlike standard VAT, Excise Tax and Withholding Tax demand highly specialized technical knowledge. Failing to register an excise product or miscalculating WHT on foreign software licenses, royalties, or technical fees can trigger catastrophic penalties from the FTA. At Nexus TCS Global, we analyze your entire supply chain and international contract structures. We ensure your business is perfectly aligned with local tax codes while legally utilizing Double Tax Avoidance Agreements (DTAA) to minimize withholding exposure.

Targeted Solutions for Complex Indirect & International Taxes

Protect your supply chain and foreign vendor payments from compliance slip-ups. Our elite CA team provides total coverage for highly regulated products and international transaction structures.

Accurate identification and registration of your exciseable goods (beverages, tobacco, electronic smoking devices) on the EmaraTax portal, ensuring precise product descriptions and tariff compliance.

Assisting logistics and manufacturing firms in securing “Designated Zone” or Excise Warehouse registrations to defer tax liabilities legally until products enter the local market.

Flawless calculation and timely submission of monthly excise declarations. We carefully reconcile your imported, manufactured, or stockpiled goods to prevent severe non-declaration fines.

Bulletproof structuring of outbound payments (royalties, interest, dividends, service fees) made to non-residents, ensuring exact withholding rates are applied based on local UAE/GCC tax laws.

Leveraging the UAE’s extensive network of Double Taxation Avoidance Agreements to legally reduce or eliminate withholding tax percentages on your foreign vendor contracts and corporate group remittances.

Comprehensive internal reviews of your historical customs data, product recipes, and foreign contracts to identify and fix hidden compliance gaps before the FTA schedules an official audit.

Is Your Supply Chain and International Contract Structure Immune to Penalties?

The Federal Tax Authority enforces zero tolerance for excise evasion or incorrect WHT treatment on international corporate payments. A simple misclassification can halt your imports or lead to massive structural back-taxes. Our specialized services are continuously synchronized with the latest executive regulations and cabinet decisions. We verify your compliance at every stage—from custom clearance checkpoints to final foreign remittance slips—giving your board complete peace of mind.

Excise tax is applied to goods harmful to human health or the environment. Standard rates include Carbonated Drinks (50%), Sweetened Beverages (50%), Energy Drinks (100%), Tobacco & Tobacco Products (100%), and Electronic Smoking Devices/Liquids (100%).

A Designated Zone is a strictly monitored, fenced area (like certain free zones) treated as outside the UAE for excise purposes. Storing excise goods here allows you to suspend tax payments until the goods are officially released into the local mainland market.

Under the current UAE Corporate Tax framework, a 0% Withholding Tax rate applies to certain categories of UAE-sourced income paid to non-resident persons. However, mandatory filing and reporting compliance must still be met perfectly to avoid penalties.

If your UAE company makes payments (like royalties or management fees) to a foreign entity, that foreign country might normally levy high WHT. By applying the bilateral DTAA between the UAE and that country, we can legally lower or completely eliminate those withholding deductions.

The FTA treats any unauthorized possession or import of excise goods—even small commercial samples or corporate gifts—without proper declaration as a major compliance violation, which can lead to hefty administrative fines and custom clearance blockages.
